My Life Theater Concept

Life Theater was born in April of 1994. I had just organized a talent show in Hartford, CT to raise money for AIDS Project Hartford. I had met some of the most dynamic, exciting young, old, slim, fat, quirky, liberal, and not so liberal-minded people. The talent show didn't raise as much money as I would've liked, but I succeeded in bringing a diverse group of talented people together on one stage.

The most memorable segment for me occurred on the second evening of the Talent Show. It was a segment I entitled “Live Poets Society,” responding to the wonderful film Dead Poets Society. Here, people read either their own poetry or poetry of others while Pat Metheny's “Are You Going With Me?” was played in the background—and thus began the magical journey of Life Theater.

From that moment on, whenever I write a poem, I begin to envision a theatrical presentation or recitation of that poem. Yet Life Theater is not only poetry readings. I have written dialogue and verse for a stage play, incorporating the accompaniment of the Metheny theme. And, alas, this is Life Theater in a nutshell.

In essence, Life Theater is a theatrical representation of life. The characters I create represent people or a combination of people I've encountered along my journey through life. Life Theater is journeying toward a new and fresh theatrical concept to bring diverse talented people together. I intend to co-create with dynamic, exciting poets, actors, rappers, dancers, singers, and writers.

I have recently completed a stage play entitled, Life Theater: A Night at the Theater. The visions I've always had of Life Theater are indeed manifested in this play, a play that tackles sexuality, the Kennedy assassination (as well as character assassination), the past, present, and future; as well as Batman and super heroes. I will continue to write more and more poems and plays based on life's journey, always taking action to manifest a life-changing co-creation with diverse talented people.

The Repo Man

I had to cut short my Friday night party because I had to be up early this Saturday morning to be at some poor slob’s to take his car. I hate doing this, but it’s my job. The economy sucks. As long as people can’t pay, I get paid. That’s the bottom line, isn’t it?

It’s 6:53 in the morning don’t u see?
I knew you was comin’
But I wish you’d let me be

I feel bad for this guy. I can sympathize. He’s not the only one. I’ve been doing this a lot lately. God, did I drink too much last night! Never mind that, I got to put on my firm, impartial persona. I hope this guy doesn’t give me any trouble.

You’re calling me on the phone
Goddammit leave me alone
My mind is in another zone
Goddammit leave me alone

Is this guy even awake? He won’t pick up the phone. Tough!
I’m in a tow truck and I came to tow his car. That’s my job. Oh, there he is in the second floor window. I’m in no mood for a fuss. Too much fuss lately. “I need the keys!”

It’s 6:53 in the morning don’t u see?
You’re down the stairs, outside
Demanding to have the car key

I want to do this quickly and quietly. I’m not here to humiliate anyone. Just doing my job. I hate this. I know he hates this right now. He looks so pathetic. He knew he had it coming. You can’t have a car if you can’t pay for it.

I’m living on the second floor
The neighbor on the third floor
Is walking to the window
To see just what you’re here for

Yo dude, wassup, wassup I call from the window
You’re asking for the car keys
Keep your voice down please
Goddammit leave me alone!
Guess I should’ve answered the phone

What a pity! Aluminum cans. That won’t even pay for a decent steak. “I need all the car keys.” Shit! He has to go back upstairs and get another key. I just wanna get out of here. I tried to do this quickly and discretely. I’m not going to make him walk out here again in his socks. “Just throw them!”

Now I’m down on the sidewalk
No time to put on shoes
While the neighbor on the third floor
Is spreading the news

And I take from the trunk
The bag of cans I need
To buy the next meal
To plant a mustard seed.

Done! I’m outta here!

Artistic Community

When I Go to My Grave. . .

I go not having anticipated that glorious day. Yet the day will be glorious because I will have known right then and now that I have left my legacy. I will be proud leaving this earth as a starving artist. Not so much starving as one who hasn’t had enough to eat. I will go starving from not being able to connect with the potential share of creative thinkers and artists, actors, writers, singers, and lyricists in a community we could have built, engaged in labors of love.

I will be starving because so many passed me by. Tears of regret may well in my eyes because I will realize that I too am at fault. I may have allowed too many of those wonderful men and women to pass me by.

I may be on my death bed having smoked too many cigarettes and having drunk too much vodka and having stopped too late. I may regret realizing and discovering too late that the Law of Attraction, Universal Law, the law of cause and effect, and quantum mind power were always there from which to benefit in this world.

When I go to my grave I will be able to chuckle at myself for investing too much time, energy, and money in get rich quick schemes and scams: I was nothing but a misguided product of modern technology and the internet. And then, when I caught on and began controlling my destiny, the repercussions of so many months and years of negative self-talk and so many manifestations brought on by wrong thinking had increasingly taken its toll on my soul that I discovered I had dug myself into such a deep cavern. It took so much time, energy, and money to climb back out.

It isn’t morbid at all to think of what it will be like on your deathbed. It is healthy and can change one’s perspective on life and the way one lives life. When I go to my grave, I want to know by my last dying breath that I have lived to my fullest potential and have encouraged others to do the same. How many times have you already said “If only I had…” in this lifetime? Yet you have plenty of years ahead of you now and you have—as far as we know now—plenty of time to do the things you were meant to do while here on this earth.

How many times have you heard, “It’s not what you can do but it’s who you know”? What if you can take the course of action right now to make your motto “It is what I can do and it is who I know!” What if we could all say,

“I was the one to know and I was the one who could do my special talent and be noted for it, whether while living or posthumously”?


With your special creative talent, can you utilize it to edify another person’s agenda and have that other person, in turn, utilize his/her talent to edify your own agenda? Does this sound like the perfect artistic community to you? It sure does to me.

Knowledge is power and if we stand still for one moment and visualize that we have that power to be creative artists using the law of vibration, we will soon be able to magnetize manifesting vibrations which bring to us all that we desire. We will have all mastered the art of visualization. We have created so many undesirable manifestations; so knowing that, with the power of thoughts, we can begin to attract desirable and wonderful things into our lives right now!

I have allowed so much negative self-talk in my world within. It is time to stop blaming the parents and teachers who have given us this self-talk. Now with the powerful knowledge of visualization, we can let go of the cop outs. We are able to clean the slate now and start with a fresh page on which we can repaint the impressions on our brains.

Instead of pens and brushes and instruments, we can use as our tools our predominant thoughts to create new visions of our character, ability, and purpose. And this takes persistent effort! Yes, it is not going to be easy.

It takes persistent effort to create a painting, to write a poem, to perform a complicated choreography. The art of visualization takes just as much persistent effort. Now is the time for new creation. Now is the time to put the old thoughts into the scrap barrel and begin a civil war within ourselves! Yes, it is not going to be easy. The war will be a tough, hard-fought battle between old and new ideas.

Before I do, I am going to say a few words on the concept of truth. "Truth is powerful" . Truth is a universal law, it's unchangeable, it has its own organizing power within itself. As long as you know the truth, your level of awareness will automatically increase, and will never fall back again. Once you know the truth, you will totally shift your own perception, and you will see the world very differently. Your life will never be the same again. Our entire life is seeking for the truth. Some people are luckier, they easily discover the truth, and so they can enjoy a stress free life based on the truth. Other people spend their entire lives struggling, but never find the truth. Actually, truth is simple, you only need someone to tell you, and you will immediately recognize it and wonder why you never thought about it before.


I am now going to share a few simple truths behind this principle.


1. YOU already have what you want.


You may have heard that “Before you ask, it is already given to you”.


Have you ever thought of what this really means? You may think that this is another religious belief, but from a scientific point of view, it is absolutely true. What it really means is that everything you desire, or anything you can possibly imagine, already exists in the cosmic field of all possibilities as a form of energy. The entire universe is a huge ocean of energy. This means you and I and everything else on this planet, including money, house, cars, or even the ideal soul mate you are looking for, are energy. What you may not know is that this energy acts on the command of the higher intelligence, which governs the entire universal system. What you may also not know is that you are part of this intelligence; you have every quality of the higher intelligence. Therefore you have the ability to command the energy field. You can create literally anything you can imagine out of this cosmic energy field. Remember “You are the creator of your own life.”


Since what you want is already given to you, it makes absolute sense to think, speak, and act as if all your desires have already come true.


2. Feeling is the language of higher intelligence.


Since you are part of higher intelligence, why don’t you see any evidence that you are creating the life you desire? Why does life seem a never-ending series of struggles? Why is your life still full of worries and anxiety? If you have any of these feelings, this is exactly the answer. What you feel, you create and manifest. The universe will never disappoint you. Whatever you ask for, it will give to you. The problem is, the universe does not speak English, or Chinese, or any other languages used by human beings. However, there is a universal language built into our body system even before we were born. This language is universal; so the universe can communicate with any one of us. This language is our feeling and emotions. We have been communicating with higher intelligence every single second since the minute we were born. The universe provides us with everything we ask for according to our command. It is the ignorance and misuse of this powerful language that gives us so much struggle and unhappiness. Think about it, if feeling is the language you speak to the universe in, when you struggle, and feel unhappy, what will the universe respond with? It has no choice but to fulfill your command by giving you more struggle and unhappiness. It always satisfies you.


Now you understand, no matter how miserable your current condition is, you must stop feeling miserable and unhappy, because if you don’t, you are telling the universe that you want more misery and unhappiness. Instead, “Think, speak and act as if all your desires have already come true”. This will trigger the feeling that is consistent with your desires, hence pass your command into the universe, and bring it into reality with effortless ease. The universe will never disappoint you, only you do. Be careful what you feel, because you will attract more of it.


3. The universe will take care of the details


Now I am asking you to “think, speak and act as if your desires have already come true”. You may ask me how you are going to do it.


You don’t have to worry, you will know exactly how at the exact right time and the right place. The universe will take care of all the details. Your job is to tell the universe what you want through the universal language of feelings and emotions. Your emotion is a kind of energy with a certain frequency. It will go into the cosmic energy field, find the exact energy that matches the frequency of your emotions, and bring it forth to you in the form of a book, a mentor, an opportunity, or a group of supporting people. It will find exactly what you need, but that is the job of the universe; it is already guaranteed by the universal law of attraction at the moment you send out your emotion. The only thing you need to do is to focus on your heart’s desires, feel what you should feel, see what you should see, hear what you should hear, even smell what you should smell if your desires have already come true. Let the universe orchestrate all the details.

The Peanut Butter Lid

A Vast, Huge World of Thought Out There

Just the other night I was standing in my kitchen over the counter cluttered
with dirty dishes and silverware. I had just fixed myself a peanut butter
sandwich and was preparing to wash the dishes as I ate. I have bought
peanut butter from the supermarket hundreds of time; as I can recall, the lid
is either going to be red or blue. Subconsciously, I had put the impression
in my mind that this lid was blue as I was eating and dumping dirty dishes
into the sink. I saw the topless peanut butter jar and began looking for a
blue lid. The fact is, the lid is red. Neither my eyes nor my mind’s eye could
see the lid! And it is a big lid and it was lying right there in front of me!

I had performed magic!

Then, consciously, I began thinking to myself how ridiculous this is: did I
put the lid in a drawer, in the refrigerator? And then consciously, I
remembered that the lid isn’t blue after all, it is red. Only then, could I finally
see it lying on the counter right under my nose.

No one can make this stuff up, right?

Look how powerful my world within had become! My brain didn’t know the
difference between what was really red and what was imagined as blue: as
long as I had the impression it was blue, the red lid had disappeared into
thin air!

So now I think it’s time to start thinking big! If this incredible magic can
occur over the color of a peanut butter lid, imagine if I begin to sub-consciously
and consciously picturing bigger and better things with this huge mass of muscle in this world within, so I can begin connecting to a vast, huge world of thought out there!
